Refuel

What is Refuel?

Users bridging tokens to a new blockchain frequently encounter the issue of lacking the native token required for transaction fees. Their options are limited to requesting tokens from a faucet or attempting to bridge the native token from a different blockchain. However, they often find that faucets have run out of tokens, or there is no available bridge for the specific native token they need.

In response to this significant challenge faced by users during the bridging process, we have launched Refuel. Operated by Bungee (the creators of Socket), Refuel is designed as a public utility, guaranteeing that users have access to the necessary native Gas-token on any blockchain they require.

Refuel integrates directly into the token bridging process, ensuring users obtain the necessary native tokens on the destination blockchain alongside their transferred assets. Additionally, it serves as a means to transfer small quantities of native tokens between chains.

How does Refuel work?

Refuel operates as a centralized service, developed and managed by Bungee (the team behind Socket). It utilizes centralized indexers and liquidity pools to facilitate its operation. The process begins when a user makes a deposit of a native token on the source blockchain, triggering a deposit event. This event is captured by our indexers and recorded in a database. After the source blockchain confirms the transaction with a sufficient number of block confirmations, we proceed to dispatch the corresponding native gas tokens to the user on the target blockchain.

Users are credited with an equivalent dollar value of the destination's native token, corresponding to the amount of the source native token they deposit. For instance, depositing $5 worth of MATIC on Polygon would result in the user receiving an equivalent value of $5 in BNB on the BNB Chain, after accounting for the deduction of gas fees.

Refuel operates without charging any protocol fees. The only amount that is deducted from the amount sent to the user is for the gas fees incurred on the destination chain.

Integrate Refuel

Refuel can be integrated via the Bungee API.
